Dev Hynes performed his score for 'Easternsports' at The Whitney (pics)

On Friday (2/3), Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes performed his score for Easternsports, “the multisensory installation” at NYC’s The Whitney by artists Alex Da Corte and Jayson Musson. In front of panels that shifted in color, which matched well with the bushels of oranges strewn around the space, Dev used grand piano, synths, and an Akai electronic wind instrument to perform the New Age-y score (shades of Vangelis). Easternsports was part of exhibit “Dreamlands: Immersive Cinema and Art, 1905-2016” which closed on Sunday (2/5). Dev Hynes recently released a collaborative song with Bryndon Cook of Starchild & the New Romantic, under the name VeilHymn.
