Devendra Banhart @ Tonic, NYC | Pics
Devendra Banhart, joined by Tarantula, half of CocoRosie (Devendra’s girlfriend?), Will (is my friend), and a few more characters who I unfortunately can’t name, played Tonic in NYC Monday night (Feb. 21st, 2005) to help raise money for the ailing club.
It was a very laid back show with lots of improvising, and a bunch of covers. I hope Devendra’s fame and looks aren’t going to his head, because he covered a song by Charlie Manson. The highlight of the show was a cover of Antony’s “Fistul of Love.” Obviously I was very, very, very, very, very, very, very excited about that.
