Devendra Banhart announces fall tour
Devendra Banhart has just announced a fall North American tour, kicking off October 15 in Ventura, CA and wrapping up December 8 in Philadelphia, with stops in between in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, Boulder, Minneapolis, Chicago, Memphis, Austin (Levitation Fest), Detroit, NYC, Boston and more. The NYC show happens December 5 at Brooklyn Steel with Black Belt Eagle Scout. Tickets for that show -- and all dates of the tour -- go on sale Friday, May 31 at 10 AM local time and there's an AmEx presale for the NYC show that starts Wednesday (5/31) at noon.
While Devendra hasn't released a new studio album since 2016's Ape In Pink Marble, he did recently curate a compilation of demos featuring such artists as Arthur Russell, Vashti Bunyan, Tim Presley, King Tuff, Helado Negro and more. He also just released Weeping Gang, Bliss Void, Yab-Yum, which is his first-ever book of poetry.
