Brooklyn jazz rap greats Digable Planets have been reunited for a few years, and now they’re set to reissue their 1993 debut Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time and Space) for its 25th anniversary on February 23 via Light in the Attic. This follows Light in the Attic’s 2013 reissue of the group’s sophomore (and final) album, 1994’s Blowout Comb.

The new Reachin’ is the album’s first vinyl repress since it’s initial 1993 release. It’s been expanded as a double LP “for improved sound,” includes liner notes by Larry Miell Jr interviewing Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler, and has lyrics included for the first time. There’s a limited edition on blue and lavender wax that you can purchase online only, and a limited edition on non-metallic gold wax that you purchase in stores only.

No Digable Planets shows announced at the moment, but Butterfly’s group Shabazz Palaces have a few upcoming dates in continued support of their two 2017 albums. The dates include a Brooklyn show on March 19 at Elsewhere (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Watch Digable Planets’ video for Reachin’ single “Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” and Shabazz Palaces’ video for “Shine A Light” from last year’s Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star, below.
