Disq announce debut LP for Saddle Creek, touring (listen to "Daily Routine")

Wisconsin’s Disq have announced Collector, their first album for Saddle Creek, which is out March 6 via the label. (They released a 7″ for Saddle Creek last year.) Originally a duo, Disq are now a full band, and made the album with producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile). The first single, “Daily Routine,” mixes indie rock with just a little honky tonk that, lyrically, deals with breaking out of a monotonous cycle. “The tongue-in-cheek lyrics are a coping mechanism for me as sometimes being able to laugh at my own situation is the only thing that can make me feel better,” says the band’s Isaac deBroux-Slone. “Sonically the song ended up a loose template for the sound of many other songs on the album; expressing feelings simply through loud guitars.” You can watch the video for “Daily Routine” below.

After hitting Austin for SXSW, Disq will head out on tour, including dates with Pom Pom Squad and Girl Friday. The NYC stop, which is with Pom Pom Squad, happens at Rough Trade on April 10. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 10 at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting Thursday (1/9) at 10 AM.
