Fred and Bill parody ‘The War Room’ on IFC’s ‘Documentary Now!’

The second season of Fred Armisen and Bill Hader‘s IFC series Documentary Now! will be premiere September 14 at 10 PM Eastern/Pacific. The first episode, appropriately for this election year, will parody D.A. Pennebaker’s The War Room (which detailed Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign). Here called “Bunker” it will feature Tabitha Soren reprising her MTV News anchor chair for this. Other documentaries being satirized: The Maysles’ 1969 film Salesman (here called “Globesman”) and Jiro Dreams of Sushi will become “Juan Likes Chicken and Rice.” You can watch a couple clips from the “Bunker” episode, which below.

Meanwhile, Fred Armisen will be playing a few comedy shows this fall, including Los Angeles’ Festival Supreme and a New York Comedy Festival appearance at Town Hall on November 4 (tickets). He’s got shows in between in Washington, DC and New Haven, CT. All dates are listed below.
