Tickets are still available for this week’s two Mystery Jets shows at Mercury Lounge, happening Tuesday (9/14) and Wednesday (9/15). The shows are also notable as the NYC debut of Los Angeles duo Dominant Legs who just dropped their debut EP on Lefse Records.

San Franciscans Ryan Lynch (who also plays guitar in Girls) and Hannah Hunt have crafted an appealing mix of atmosphere and musicianship on the record, with the all-important good songwriting in there too. Check out vaguely funky and definitely catchy “About My Girls” at the top of this post, and you can watch video of an acoustic performance further down. Dominant Legs also made Stereogum’s list of the 40 Best New Bands of 2010.

Dominant Legs will also open for Mystery Jets in L.A. on Sept. 17, and if you don’t want to cough up the $20 to get into one of the Mercury Lounge shows, the band will be back in NYC during CMJ. All dates below…
