Down confirm first US 'NOLA' 25th anniversary show: Psycho Las Vegas

As you may have heard, NOLA sludge supergroup Down are regrouping to play 25th anniversary shows for their classic 1995 debut album NOLA, and after announcing a few European festivals, their first US date is now announced: Psycho Las Vegas.

They join an already-stacked lineup that includes Thursday, Warpaint, Cursive, Pinback, Boysetsfire, Brutus, This Will Destroy You, Blue Oyster Cult, Satyricon, At The Gates (Slaughter of the Soul 25th anniversary set), Poison The Well (The Opposite of December 20th anniversary set), Boris, Ty Segall, Mayhem, Blonde Redhead, Ulver, Windhand, Watain, MGLA, a “rumored” headlining set from Emperor, and more. Tickets are still available.

Down’s lineup for the anniversary shows includes everyone who played on NOLA: vocalist Phil Anselmo (Pantera), guitarist Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod), and as recently confirmed, guitarist/bassist Kirk Windstein (Crowbar).

Kirk also tells Revolver that they’re planning a New Orleans show, so stay tuned for that and any other possible show announcements.

Kirk’s new solo album also comes out this week, and he released his cover of Jethro Tull’s “Aqualung” from that album yesterday.
