Jazz great and master of the Hammond B3, Dr. Lonnie Smith was just named as one of the the NEA's 2017 Jazz Masters -- the nation's highest honor in jazz -- and, along with his Trio, played the Kumble Theater at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday (2/25). Playing a mix of covers and originals, Smith and his band were nothing short of stellar, aided in no small part by guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg and drummer Jonathan Blake. Pictures from the concert are in the gallery above and setlist is below.

Dr. Lonnie Smith, and the rest of 2017 NEA Jazz Masters, will be playing a special concert at Washington DC's Kennedy Center on April 3.
