DRÆMINGS on tour with Death Valley Girls (listen to new single "Golden Age")

Kimi Recor began DRÆMINGS as a solo project back in 2012 but it has now evolved into a four-piece collaborative band, making noir-ish synthpop and having released The Eternal Lonesome back in 2016, and a self-titled EP last year. Now releasing music on her own Play Like A Girl label, DRÆMINGS have a brand new single, the very catchy “Golden Age,” that sounds like 1981 but has eyes on the future. Says Kimi:

I envision people immersed so deeply in their phones, that they don’t see the world slipping out from beneath them, and a future where everyone is so involved in their VR games that it doesn’t matter that the planet is completely dying around them.

I imagine someone coming from a future where time travel is possible and trying to engage people into changing for the better, but no one has the wherewithal or desire to pay attention.

Despite all this, Golden Age has some sort of hope- because our time traveler comes from a golden age future, despite the current state of the world.

“Golden Age” premieres in this post and you can stream it below.

Kimi currently plays keyboards in Death Valley Girls, and DRÆMINGS are opening on West Coast/Southwest dates of their tour. They’ve also got a single release show in Los Angeles on Saturday (10/20) at Lodge Room (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Death Valley Girls will be in NYC for Jonathan Toubin’s Haunted Hop at Knockdown Center on Halloween night with Roky Erickson, Hank Wood and more.
