Dreamwell share "Sayaka" video; tour with For Your Health & Stay Inside starts soon

Providence screamo/post-hardcore band Dreamwell are gearing up to begin their rescheduled tour with For Your Health and Stay Inside this month (amazing triple bill), but first they’ve got a new video for “Sayaka,” one of the highlights of last year’s Modern Grotesque, which we named one of the best punk albums of 2021.

“‘Sayaka’ is about a character in the anime Madoka Magica, so with this video I wanted to blend elements of that story with something that felt like more classic New England witch lore to make a new vision that reflects where we come from but still stays true to the source material,” said Dreamwell vocalist Keziah Staska, who co-directed the video alongside William J. Hall. It splices together footage of the band playing in a blue-lit room, and the band coming face to face with an axe murderer in the woods, and it also has some scenes that play off the porcelain doll metaphor in the lyrics. Check it out below.

The tour with For Your Health and Stay Inside hits Brooklyn on March 20 at Saint Vitus, and there are Long Island and New Jersey shows too. All dates are listed on the tour poster below.

Dreamwell have also just launched vinyl pre-orders (including a vinyl/shirt bundle) via Old Press Records, and you can get yours via Bandcamp or Beth Shalom Records.
