Drive-By Truckers' new album, The Unravelling, is out January 31 and, like 2016's American Band, it's a fiery polemic about the state of our country (and the world). "The past three-and-a-half years were among the most tumultuous our country has ever seen,” wrote Patterson Hood back in November, “and the duality between the generally positive state of affairs within our band while watching so many things we care about being decimated and destroyed all around us informed the writing of this album to the core." If you haven't checked out the record's single "Armageddon's Back in Town" yet, you can watch the lyric video below.

The band have shows in Colorado this month and begin their 2020 tour in earnest with a three-night run at Athens, GA's 40-Watt that begins February 13. The tour will hit NYC on February 21 at Webster Hall (tickets). Before that, they'll be in Brooklyn to celebrate The Unravelling's release at Rough Trade on February 1 where they'll play an acoustic set and talk about the album with Rolling Stone's David Fricke. To attend you'll need to buy a copy of the album from Rough Trade -- details are here.
