Drug Church are beginning their run opening Thrice's Vheissu tour, alongside mewithoutYou and Holy Fawn, tonight (1/23) in San Francisco. Ahead of the tour, we asked the band what music they've been listening to lately, and guitarist Nick Cogan sent a list of ten songs -- mostly from the past two years -- including tracks by Guided by Voices, Criteria, Snail Mail, Kim Gordon, Regional Justice Center, and more, with commentary on each pick. Check out Nick's full list below.

Earlier this week, Drug Church released their own new song, "Bliss Out," which is from the sessions from 2018's great Cheer, and you can hear that below too.

The tour with Thrice, mewithoutYou and Holy Fawn includes shows at NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on 2/8 and NJ’s Starland Ballroom on 2/9 (tickets). All dates are listed below.

For mewithoutYou, this will be one of their last tours before hiatus. For Holy Fawn, it's their first trek since releasing The Black Moon EP.

WHAT DRUG CHURCH GUITARIST NICK COGAN HAS BEEN LISTENING TO

1. Guided By Voices - “Volcano"
I listen to everything that GBV releases at least one time through. For a band that sometimes releases 2-3 LPS a year there’re gonna be some songs that just aren’t that great. Every now and then you’ll get one that feels right. Volcano is one of those.

2. Criteria - "We Are. We Are. We Aren’t."
Growing up in Albany, NY, all of the cool kids liked Saddle Creek. Criteria always had cool album covers and big riffs so I ended up getting super into them. They’re back in 2020 with an LP and this is my favorite song off of it.

3. Snail Mail - "The 2nd Most Beautiful Girl In The World"
There was a portion of 2019 when I was super obsessed with K Records. I was listening to all of the records and I had just watched the documentary when Snail Mail released this song. It’s a cover of a pretty obscure K Records band called Courtney Love. Seemed like fate.

4. Kim Gordon - "Murdered Out"
Kim Gordon is a constant source of inspiration. I thought No Home Record was one of the most interesting albums I had heard in a bit. This is my favorite song from that one.

5. Regional Justice Center - “Confrontation"
Power-violence written by a person who respects a well written song. Off of the 2019 Institution EP, this one is the crowd pleaser.

6. Heart Attack Man - "Out For Blood”
We like Heart Attack Man a bunch. FFO blood and conspiracy theories. Here’s a mid-tempo snotty song with lyrics written from the perspective of DFENS from the movie Falling Down.

7. Spell Runner - “S.O.N.Y."
Some freaky music from some freaky friends in Albany, NY. Constantly doing whatever they want. Listen to their 2019 release Always On The Cool.

8. Glitterer - “Distraction"
Love when a great record has a great last song. This one is no exception.

9. White Reaper - "Real Long Time"
For anyone new to White Reaper, this song gives you all you need to know in a blissful 3 minutes and 18 seconds. Thin Lizzy riffs with Cheap Trick pop sensibilities. Couldn’t possibly not like it.

10. DZ Deathrays - "Total Meltdown"
Admittedly I haven’t given the newest LP from DZ Deathrays an honest listen yet but I’m sure if I had, I would’ve picked a track off that. This song is off of the 2018 LP and it’s been on repeat for quite a bit.
