
Ed Askew playing two NYC shows in August (one with Dump)
Folk cult-legend Ed Askew will be following up his recent NYC performance with two Brooklyn shows this month. The first happens August 14 at Troost (1011 Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint) with openers Joshua Burkett and Allysen Callery; then on August 23 at Union Pool, he'll be performing along with Dump (aka Yo La Tengo bassist James McNew) and supporting act The Sloppy Heads (tickets). Speaking of Yo La Tengo, they will be playing a string of shows this fall as well; see the full schedule below. They were among the many acts who performed at Laurie Anderson's Lou Reed tribute last month.
