Eels played Brooklyn Steel, covered Prince (pics, setlist, video)

Quirky, orchestral indie rock vet Eels returned with new album The Deconstruction back in April and brought their tour to NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on Saturday, June 9. While they played lots of songs from the new LP and classics like “Mr. E’s Beautiful Blues,” “Novocaine for the Soul” and “Souljacker part I” they also played a number of covers, including Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” and “When You Were Mine” in honor of it being Prince’s birthday just a couple days prior.
