Mancunian band Elbow will release new album Giants of All Sizes on October 11 via Verve. (It's their first since 2017's Little Fictions.) The lead single is the sprawling, seven-minute “Dexter & Sinister,” which frontman Guy Garvey calls “a great, big, bewildered question dealing with my feelings on Brexit, the loss of family and friends and the general sense of disaffection you see all around at the moment.” The song features backing vocals from Jesca Hoop and the track was recorded mostly live. "‘We haven’t sat around and played like that in a long time. The looseness in the track definitely comes from us playing live in the room and, on the second part, we decided not to play to a click to really allow the tune to breathe.” As usual, Elbow brings style, class and wry humor to this one, not to mention their widescreen, anthemic style. The single is out as a one-sided 10″ single with the lyrics etched into the flipside of the vinyl.
