Electric Wizard streaming new album, 'Time to Die' (listen)

Electric Wizard

Another stream out this week from one of the year’s most anticipated metal albums (though an entirely different side of the spectrum from Blut Aus Nord) is the full LP stream of UK doom vets Electric Wizard‘s Time to Die, due 9/30 via Spinefarm Records. It follows 2010’s Black Masses and about two decades of the band’s expertly crafted doom, and it’s a reminder that no one does it quite like Electric Wizard. The riffs are crushing, sharp and stick in your head, Jus Oborn still sounds distorted and demonic, and the interspersed clips of a news anchor linking teen death to “rock music associated with devil worship” shows they still have a sense of humor too. Stream the whole thing at NPR.
