Elephant Stone released 'Ship of Fools' (listen), expand tour

Elephant Stone just released their fourth album, Ship of Fools, via Elephants on Parade/Burger. Much like Primal Scream (clearly an influence) this Montreal band get better the further they fly from trad rock n’ roll, and this is by far their most ambitious, far-flying record yet. It’s quite possibly their best too, offering up ecstatic pop (“See the Light”), sunny ’70s AM radio influenced numbers (“Love is a Spinning Wheel”), and groovy tracks that could’ve played at the Hacienda in 1990 (“Cast the First Stone,” “The Devil’s Shelter”). Main man Rishi Dir is both an excellent bassist and sitar player, and both those instruments really shine here. You can stream the whole album below.

You can catch Elephant Stone on tour starting in October, including NYC at Trans-Pecos on October 22 with The Midnight Hollow, and Echo Courts. Tickets are on sale.
