Nashville country singer Elise Davis is releasing her sophomore album Cactus on September 7. Pre-orders include instant downloads of five songs on the album, and we're now premiering the video for a sixth, "Lone Wolf." The album was produced by Jordan Lehning, who's worked closely with Andrew Combs and Caitlin Rose and has done string arrangements for Kacey Musgraves, and if you like any of those artists but haven't heard Elise Davis, that's worth changing. She's got a great voice, and she has a similar knack for making '60s/'70s style country with a modern-day touch. Here's what Elise tells us about "Lone Wolf":

It is not a fun realization to think to ones self that you are possibly meant to be alone. But after so many failed attempts at making relationships work, it is the way I felt. Every time I became involved with someone I felt like I was being put in a cage. I wrote "Lone Wolf" after crying my eyes out in my car parked by a railroad track. Ironically, writing this song was a step that allowed me to move on from thinking this way.
