EMEFE have a new video, doing a Brooklyn residency (with DJ Will Butler & more); Antibalas doing one too

Brooklyn afrobeat band EMEFE, who are fronted by Miles Arntzen of Antibalas and Will Butler’s band, will be in residency at hometown venue Baby’s All RIght this September with shows on 9/3, 9/17 and 9/24. It’s a late-night residency, with 11:30 PM doors and midnight start times. Here’s what the full schedule looks like:

9/3 w/ DJ Chico Mann + Inhumanoids Crew (dance) (tickets)

9/17 w/ DJ Teeny Lieberson + Billy Martin’s Fang Percussion (tickets)

9/24 w/ DJ Will Butler + special guests (tickets)

Meanwhile, Will’s brother and Arcade Fire bandmate Win Butler is DJing NYC this week twice.

EMEFE’s residency is in continued support of their new self-titled album which came out this May. That album includes the single “40 Watt,” which has been given video treatment by director Diego Lopez. It features live footage shot at Martyrs’ in Chicago in May, and it premieres below.

In related news, Antibalas are also doing a Brooklyn residency soon. Theirs is at Brooklyn Bowl, and includes shows on October 28, November 4, 11, and 18 with special guests at each one. Tickets for all four shows are on sale now.
