Empty Country (Cymbals Eat Guitars) playing NYC release show w/ The Wrens’ Charles Bissell & Field Mouse
Empty Country is the new project of Cymbals Eat Guitars frontman Joseph D’Agostino, and his anticipated self-titled debut album is arriving April 24 via Get Better Records and it features Charles Bissell of The Wrens, Rachel and Zoë Brown of Field Mouse, and more.
Empty Country have now announced that they'll celebrate the album with a release show att Brooklyn's Elsewhere Zone One on April 29 with support from both Field Mouse and Charles Bissell, so hopefully that means we can expect some on-stage collaboration. Teenage Halloween open too, and tickets are on sale now.
It's Empty Country's only announced date that we're aware of at the moment, and we're also pretty sure it'll be Empty Country's first NYC-area show (they were previously supposed to play with An Horse and with the late David Berman's Purple Mountains, though both were cancelled). Listen to three songs from the album below.
UPDATE (3/19): The digital release of Empty Country's album was pushed to Friday, March 20 (the same day Bandcamp is waiving its cut of sales and giving all money to artists). No update yet on whether or not the Elsewhere show will still happen, but stay tuned.
