Bay Area thrashers Exodus have released a new track from their upcoming full-length Blood In, Blood Out. This one is called “Salt the Wound” and it features former Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammett lending a solo. Glad to see Kirk is still finding work. Blood In, Blood Out, the band’s 10th full-length, will be out on October 14 through Nuclear Blast (preorder). Exodus will then tour North America with Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies starting in November. (Closest NYC show: NJ’s Welmont Theatre on November 29.) You can stream “Salt the Wound” below.

It has been a bit of a roller-coaster news cycle for Exodus, lately. Ups: Guitarist Gary Holt will be appearing on Top Chef Duels this week (9/10) as a judge along with Scott Ian and Rob Zombie. A metal taste test? (A vegan one, actually.) Points if he quotes “Piranha.” Downs: A fan was arrested for posting Exodus lyrics on his Facebook page. So Gary, maybe don’t quote “Piranha.” Maybe you should just shred it up as an answer any question. Worked for Harpo Marx.
