FACS (ex-Disappears) prep debut LP, touring with Suuns this spring

Chicago’s great Disappears went on hiatus last year after bassist Damon Carruesco wanted to focus on his art and design work. The remaining members of the band — Brian Case, Noah Leger and Jonathan van Herik — decided to carry on as FACS. In doing so their sound changed, more atmospheric, darker, minimal. Their debut album, Negative Houses, is out March 30 via Trouble in Mind which was made at Chicago’s Electrical Audio with John Congleton. Preorders are available and you can listen to “Houses Breathing,” along with a couple demos, below.

Since the record was finished, van Herik also parted ways and Case has switched to guitar making room for Alianna Kalaba (formerly of We Ragazzi) on bass. This lineup of FACS will be on a U.S. tour with Montreal’s Suuns (who have a new album in March as well), including a NYC show at Elsewhere Hall on May 23. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, January 26 at 10 AM.
