fans without tickets stampeded Barclays Center, causing doors to close early

Last night, Brooklyn arena Barclays Center hosted the 2017 edition of Power 105.1’s annual Powerhouse with a huge lineup featuring The Weeknd, Migos, French Montana, Lil Uzi Vert, Cardi B and DJ Envy (and friends). It was unsurprisingly sold out, and, as Gothamist points out, people without tickets caused a stampede by trying to push their way into the venue. Here are a couple videos of the madness:

NBC News’ Kurt Chirbas, who tweeted the above video, also tweeted a statement from Barclays Center that reads: “At tonight’s sold out Power 105.1’s Powerhouse show, a group of fans without tickets tried to force their way into the venue. In orddr to provide a safe and secure environment for all guests, Barclays Center security worked with the New York Police department to disperse the crowd. The doors were closed at this time, and no further entry was permitted into the event. For the ticket holders whose tickets were not scanned, refunds will be available at the point of purchase.”

In related news, two acts from the Barclays Center bill, Cardi B and Migos, teamed with Nicki Minaj for the new single “Motor Sport,” which is the first single off Migos’ forthcoming Culture II. Listen below.
