Boston's Fiddlehead are a new-ish band but they've got some familiar faces: vocalist Patrick Flynn and drummer Shawn Costa of Have Heart and guitarist Alex Henery of Basement. As the frontman of Have Heart, Patrick was making ripping hardcore, but he and his bandmates tone things down for Fiddlehead, whose debut album Springtime and Blind has more of an indie rock vibe (given their punk background and the '90s indie influences, it ends up kinda sounding like Title Fight's Floral Green, and fans of that album will almost definitely be into this). It's out now on Run For Cover, and if you haven't heard it yet, you can stream the whole thing below.

Fiddlehead are opening their hometown-area stop of the Self Defense Family / Sannhet tour, which is at Great Scott this Wednesday (5/30). After that, they've got a few West Coast dates in June, and then they play NJ's just-announced Back to School Jam in September with Power Trip, Buried Alive, Folly, Indecision, Death Threat, and more. All dates are listed below.
