final John Prine song released, guest-filled tribute available to watch in full
Last night, the star-studded John Prine tribute livestream "Picture Show: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine" went down to raise money for NAMI, Alive and Make the Road New York, and in conjunction with the stream, the final song that the late John Prine wrote and recorded was released. It's called "I Remember Everything," it was produced by Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, etc), and it comes with a video of John performing the song in his living room. It's a gorgeous song, and you can hear it below. We miss you, John.
Meanwhile, the tribute show has been archived and will be available to watch and rewatch through Sunday (6/14). It features Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Kacey Musgraves, Bill Murray, Sturgill Simpson, Iris DeMent, Jim James, Kurt Vile, Dan Auerbach, Margo Price/Jeremy Ives, Courtney Marie Andrews, Stephen Colbert, Vince Gill, Kevin Bacon, Billy Bob Thornton, and more, plus Prine’s longtime band (Kenneth Blevins, David Jacques, Fats Kaplin, and Jason Wilber); and there are both performances and speakers, as well as John Prine interviews and performances that were filmed before his passing.
Watch the full two-hour tribute below. Jason Isbell/Amanda Shires is the first tribute, followed directly by Kacey Musgraves.
