Fiona Apple paid tribute to the late, great New Orleans icon and rock n’ roll/rhythm n’ blues pioneer Fats Domino on Saturday’s (10/28) episode of A Prairie Home Companion. She covered “Ain’t That a Shame,” as well as playing a couple of her own songs, “Werewolf” and “Fast As You Can.” Listen to Fiona’s performances at 20:14, 1:26:04, and 1:32:06 here. The episode, broadcast from Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA, also features performances from Dan Auerbach, Hilary Hahn, Robert Finley, and Nick Offerman.

Fiona (sadly) hasn’t announced any upcoming releases or tour dates, but she did appear (joined by St. Vincent!) at Marfa, TX festival Trans-Pecos Fest at the end of September, and played a set at California’s Ohana Festival over the summer, where she also covered “Rockin’ in the Free World” with Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard.
