Dover, Delaware’s Firefly Festival is fast-approaching, happening June 16-19. Since we last spoke, the schedule was revealed. There’s not too much exciting stuff (to us at least) on Thursday, but AlunaGeorge play at 9:45 PM which is a cool way to start your weekend if you’re getting in Thursday night.
There’s a tough conflict on Friday, Ludacris vs Tame Impala, which will make you pick between a set (presumably) packed with early ’00s rap nostalgia and one of the biggest, buzziest psych-rock bands of the 2010s. Other than that, you can see Vince Staples, Flogging Molly, Disclosure and Kings of Leon without conflict.
On Saturday the toughie is M83 vs A$AP Rocky, but you can see Quilt, Chairlift, CHVRCHES, Fetty Wap, Death Cab For Cutie, Florence + the Machine and Deadmau5 without conflict. (Quilt and Chairlift also both play intimate sets that day on smaller stages.)
On Sunday, it’s between R&B/soul/funk/disco legends Earth Wind & Fire and current arena rock stars The 1975. “S.O.B.” hitmaker Nataniel Rateliff‘s intimate Coffee House set and rising rapper Goldlink are up against pop punk lifers blink-182. (You can see Nathaniel’s main set earlier at 2:45 PM though.) Mumford & Sons and Major Lazer wrap up the day without anyone overlapping with them (though they overlap with each other for a half hour).

Like we just were at Sasquatch this past weekend, BrooklynVegan will be in the Toyota Music Den. Stay tuned for more details on that.
