First Aid Kit

Swedish duo First Aid Kit put out their major label debut, Stay Gold, today (6/10) via Columbia. The record was produced by frequent Bright Eyes producer Mike Mogis (who also helmed their last record), and it's more of their quality folk pop. There's lush arrangements, the sisters' impressive close harmonies, and strong pop songwriting, not without the haunting qualities that have always had a place in their music. You can stream the record in full at NPR and watch videos for two of its tracks, below.

As discussed, they bring their tour in support of it to NYC on Wednesday (6/11) at Webster Hall (sold out), but before that you can catch them TONIGHT (6/10) at Rough Trade NYC for a 7 PM in-store performance and signing. Admission is free, but to get in you must be one of the first 300 people to buy Stay Gold at the Rough Trade NYC store starting today at 11 AM and receive a wristband. Show flyer below.

You'll also get another chance to see First Aid Kit in the fall. They're going on another US tour surrounding their appearance at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest that hits NYC on October 24 at Hammerstein Ballroom. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (6/13) at 11 AM with a BrooklynVegan presale beginning Wednesday (6/11) at 11 AM, and then Live Nation/LN Mobile App presales starting Thursday (6/12) at 10 AM.
