Fleet Foxes announce first US show of 2017, Newport Folk Fest
Back in November, Fleet Foxes announced their first shows in five years and promised a “full world tour” for 2017/18. Up until now, they only had European festivals announced, but they just added their first US date of 2017.
Fleet Foxes are the first artist announced for the 2017 Newport Folk Festival. They play the Friday (July 28), which is the only day that’s still on sale.
UPDATE: Margaret Glaspy has also been announced for this year’s Newport Folk Festival. She plays Sunday, July 30.
Main member Robin Pecknold has continued to tease Fleet Foxes’ long-awaited followup to 2011’s Helplessness Blues. A recent revelation is that the album might be called Ylajali and it might be coming out on Nonesuch (their previous two albums came out on Sub Pop). Robin Pecknold also keeps posting vague clips on Instagram. Check out a few of the newest ones. Yesterday, he said in a comment, “songs soon!”
