Fleet Foxes announce new LP 'Crack-Up,' share nine-minute single, playing Prospect Park & other dates

Fleet Foxes have been teasing their third album for quite some time now, and the details are finally official. As rumored, they signed to Nonesuch, though their new album is called Crack-Up (not Ylajali). It drops on June 16. The first single is the nearly-nine-minute prog-folk journey “Third of May / Ōdaigahara,” which picks up right where they left off. It sounds like this album is gonna be worth the wait.

The 11 songs on the album were all written by frontman Robin Pecknold, and Robin produced the album with his bandmate Skyler Skjelset. Phil Ek, who produced their first two albums, mixed it. Fleet Foxes’ lineup for this album is Robin, Skyler, Casey Wescott, Christian Wargo, and Morgan Henderson.

The band already announced that they’re playing Newport Folk Fest, and now more US dates have been announced.

They play a BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show at Prospect Park on August 1 (the same neighborhood they once played Union Hall). Tickets for that show are on sale now go on sale Friday (3/10) at noon.

Updated dates are listed, with the lyric video for the new single (made by Sean Pecknold & Adi Goodrich), below.
