At Newport Folk Festival over the summer, the all-star cast of Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes), Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats), James Mercer (The Shins), Chris Funk (The Decemberists), Jason Isbell, John Stirratt (Wilco), Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), and Janet Weiss (Quasi, ex-Sleater-Kinney) teamed up for a gorgeous cover of Crosby, Stills & Nash's "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," and about halfway through, they brought out the song's namesake, the legendary Judy Collins. After the performance, Judy said to the crowd, "The first time he sang that to me, I said, 'it's a beautiful song... but it's not gonna get me back.'" A pro-shot video of the cover has now been released, and the whole thing is very awesome.
