Florence + The Machine at Barclays Center

Florence + the Machine are on tour now with Grimes, and they began their two-night stand at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last night (6/14). Florence’s set was great. She’s always seemed built for an arena stage, and last night she really took advantage of having room to run around and pirouette (which she did A LOT). She actually mentioned playing her first NY show at Bowery Ballroom and said she was too drunk to remember it, adding this show was better. During “Spectrum” she held up and twirled a rainbow flag and led the crowd in a goosebump-inducing chant of “love is love is love is love.”

Grimes’ opening set was, of course, a little shorter than at her own shows, and included a handful of favorites off last year’s Art Angels (like “REALiTi,” “Flesh Without Blood,” “Venus Fly,” and “Kill v. Maim”) and the two big ones off Visions (“Genesis” and “Oblivion”).

Florence and Grimes do it again at Barclays Center tonight (6/15). Tickets are still available. More pictures and setlists from last night below.
