Fontaines D.C. have been touring for most of the year in support of their debut album, with dates stretching well into the fall. But they’ve just announced that they’ve had to cancel five festival appearances, including Washington State’s THING festival at the end of August. They write: “This message is difficult to communicate to all of you. Due to health issues we find ourselves in the uncomfortable position of having to cancel the following festivals: Paleo Festival Nyon (CH), Truck Festival (UK), Deer Shed Festival (UK), Y Not Festival (UK) and Thing festival (USA). We want to make sure that everyone knows that performing is one of the most important and fulfilling parts of all of our lives, and so we will do all in our power to ensure that none of our tours are affected by this.” They conclude with “We apologise to all of you who were looking forward to attending these festivals. We look forward to seeing you at all the remaining dates this summer.”

Fontaines D.C.’s fall tour with Pottery starts September 6 at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn (sold out).
