former Gorkys Zygotic Mynci frontman Euros Childs releasing 'Sweetheart' (watch the video for 'Fruit & Veg')

Onetime Gorkys Zygotic Mynci frontman Euros Childs will release his new solo album, Sweetheart, this week via his own National Elf Library label. To make the album, he took over his parents home in Pembrookshire, Wales and recorded live with an assembled band that included drummer Stuart Kidd (Teenage Fanclub/BMX Bandits). Childs says it was a quick one:
We started on Monday morning and finished on the Friday afternoon. Eleven songs recorded in five days. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t at times hard work, it was a lot of music to record in five days. But I think the fact that it was recorded so quickly gives the record a fresh and spontaneous feel.
By Saturday morning everybody had packed up and left and all that was left to do was to tidy up the house ready for my parents return. Once everything was back in its place it was as if nothing had ever happened.
