Tributes to Aretha Franklin, who sadly passed away at the age of 76, have been pouring in from her fellow musicians and others (including Barack and Michelle Obama). Fox News ran a tribute of their own to the late Queen of Soul, but as Spin and many on social media pointed out, they included a picture of Patti LaBelle in the upper right hand corner of a slide in the montage.

Patti was one of the many who paid tribute to Aretha following her passing, but the two feuded for years as rivals.

Speaking to The Wrap, Fox issued an apology for their photo mistake. “We sincerely apologize to Aretha Franklin’s family and friends,” Media Desk Vice President Jessica Santostefano wrote. “Our intention was to honor the icon using a secondary image of her performing with Patti LaBelle in the full screen graphic, but the image of Ms. Franklin was obscured in that process, which we deeply regret.”

Aretha Franklin does not appear in the original of the AP photo Fox used.
