Frank Zappa hologram going on tour

Hologram tours continue to be a thing and Frank Zappa is the latest victim. The avant-rock legend, who passed away in 1993, will get the hologram tour treatment in 2018, produced by Eyellusion and the Zappa Family Trust. Pitchfork points out that they are promising “well known music as well as some rare and unheard material.”

The tour will include past Zappa collaborators Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, Ian Underwood and Arthur Barrow, so at least there will be some living talent on stage as well. What do you think — would you see a Zappa hologram tour?

Eyellusion is also working on a hologram production of Joe’s Garage: The Musical, the theatrical adaption of Zappa’s 1979 rock opera.

Eyellusion also worked on the recent Ronnie James Dio hologram tour.
