Frankie Rose

Frankie Rose celebrated the release of her new album, Herein Wild, last night at Bowery Ballroom. The show, "the longest I've ever played" she jokingly told the crowd, featured -- for most of the show -- an eight-piece choir, which really helped with the layered harmonies found on her records. Choir aside, I thought the new line-up of her band had things pretty down last night, especially that cover of The Damned's "Street of Dreams" which is probably better than the original. Co-headliner Tamaryn (very good as well) played before Frankie, and Weeknight (I mostly missed 'em) opened.

In a couple weeks Frankie will head out on the road, opening for Franz Ferdinand on their upcoming tour that includes an NYC stop at Hammerstein Ballroom on October 22 with Casual Sex on the bill as well. Tickets to that show are still available. She'll then head to the UK to open for White Lies. All tour dates are listed below.
