With the death of Dead Moon drummer Andrew Loomis earlier this week, Toody Cole told Willametette Week the band — as well as her and Fred Cole‘s other band Pierced Arrows — are over and they are done with rock n roll:
Fred cannot handle being up onstage for an hour and a half with a 25 pound guitar wrapped around his head. He’s becoming too unsteady on his legs; his feet are numb. We’re 67 years old!…At this point, Fred’s rock’n’roll days are over. He knows it and he’s happy with it.
This does not mean that Fred & Toody are through with music altogether. She said that the couple will still play acoustic shows as a duo, performing songs from throughout their career.
