Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2014 free show lineup (Americanafest, Jose Gonzalez, Pete Seeger memorial, Roberta Flack & more)

Lincoln Center Out of Doors

The 2014 season of Lincoln Center‘s free Out of Doors festival happens over three weeks this summer, from July 20 – August 10 at various outdoor venues in and around Lincoln Center. Highlights this year include a memorial concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger with The Chapin Sisters, Peter Yarrow, Dar Williams and more; a collaboration between José González and yMusic; the first performance in 40 Years of Larry Harlow’s Hommy: A Latin Opera; the world premiere of The Campbell BrothersA Sacred Steel Love Supreme celebrating the 50th anniversary of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme; Chicago contemporary music sextet eighth blackbird premiering new works by Bryce Dessner and Andy Akiho; plus Toshi Reagan, Roberta Flack, The Negro Problem, and more.

Lincoln Center Out of Doors also contains a few mini-fests within it this year. The all-day globalFEST happens on July 27 featuring M.A.K.U. Soundsystem, Bombay Royale, Pupy y Los Que Son Son, Charanjit Singh and lots more.

The final week (August 6 – 10) will be Americanafest NYC, featuring concerts by Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, Cassandra Wilson, Rosanne Cash, Charles Bradley, The Lone Bellow and more.
