Freezing Cold Glimmer

Freezing Cold (Bridge and Tunnel, Aye Nako, Weed Hounds) prep J Robbins-produced LP

Freezing Cold is a new-ish band with some familiar faces from the NYC punk scene: Jeff Cunningham (Bridge and Tunnel), Angie Boylan (Aye Nako, Little Lungs), and Nick Rice (Weed Hounds). Their debut album Glimmer was produced by Jawbox’s J Robbins, and it comes out September 28 via Salinas Records (pre-order). We’re premiering new single “New Ways To Wait.” The members’ past bands all share a DIY punk ethos but interpret punk in much different ways, and here, they’ve come out with something that resembles the ambitious heartland punk of bands like Restorations, while retaining that DIY spirit. It’s a very cool, very catchy song and you can hear it below.

The band also have three hometown-area shows coming up: Long Island’s Wild Fest on 8/17, the Ridgewood, NY stop of the Shellshag / Lung tour at Windhammer on 9/6, and an album release show in Ridgewood at The Footlight on 9/28.
