French duo The Liminanas releasing 'Malamore' in April (listen to "The Garden of Love" featuring Peter Hook)

French duo The Limiñanas are set to return with their new album, Malamore, out April 15 via Because Music. Lionel and Marie Limiñanas stick to what they know — The Velvet Underground, Serge Gainsbourg, JAMC fuzz, ’60s soundtracks — but it always sounds effortless and cool. The first single is “The Garden of Love” and features the distinctive bass stylings of Peter Hook. He sings backup on it too. You can stream it, along with another song (“Athens LA”) and an album trailer, below.

Last year The Limiñanas made an album with fellow French musician Pascal Comelade and you can check out a couple tracks from that below as well. The band haven’t played North America in five years, let’s hope they come back soon. They do have French dates, however, and those are listed below.
