Hopefully you found some dancing to do these past two nights. If not there’s no shortage of dance events tonight through Sunday. Here’s what’s going on tonight…

Friday night (tonight), Rong Music, the label responsible for releases from DJ Kaos, Free Blood (who are performing Saturday at Santos Party House), and Rub N Tug to name a few, is partying at APT. Label co-founder DJ Spun provides tunes along with Tommy Moye. Expect an eclectic, highly danceable set from the pair, that goes everywhere on the disco/house/funk side.

The party is from 10pm until late, $10 at the door.

Also on Friday (tonight), the much debated Crystal Castles will be deejaying at Le Royale

Email [email protected] with your name and number of guests for free admission.

Still on Friday…Nic Fanciulli is at Studio B. A few years ago a friend harassed me until I picked up James Zabiela’s Utilities whose disc one wound up being a nice, subtly banging, tech house mix. Fanciulli popped up on my radar when he and Zabiela began deejaying together under the moniker One + One last year. Unfortunately Nic fell onto my list of deejays I never got around to checking out. Luckily Nic’s May chart below can help us get an idea of what we’re in for:

Nic Fanciulli’s May Chart:

1:Matt Nordstrom – Lucky Drawl-Saved
2:Joel Mull – Face up Ep- Saved
3:Darius Syrossian – Caspian Man(Paul Woolford Mix)- Crash
4:Tiefschwarz – World Keeps(Audiofly mix)- Cdr
5:Smash Tv – Breath Me – Cdr
6:Laurent Garnier – Back to my roots – Inervisions
7:Sharam Jey – Dont Lie(Martin Buttrich mix) – King
8:Booka Shade -Charlotte (Dubfire Mix)-Get Physical
9:Adam Shaw – 6 Degrees – Cdr
10:King Unique – Sugarhigh(Nic Fanciulli mix) – Curfew

This party is 21+. $15 advanced tickets available here, $20 at the door.

One last option for Friday…

Prefuse 73 and the American Contemporary Music Ensemble
Prefuse

The Whitney, yet another of the ever-growing number of museums incorporating music events into their programming, hosts Prefuse 73 as part of their Wordless Music Series along with the American Contemporary Music Ensemble who will perform the classical piece Sound of Five by Chen Yi. The range and diversity of Prefuse 73’s work make this performance hard to pin down, but it should definitely be interesting given the context of the event and taking into consideration the bonus disc of Prefuse 73’s fall ’07 release Preparations which is said to feature:

“Prefuse’s until now unheard explorations into orchestral soundtrack music, all underpinned by his trademark textural depth.”

Whitney Live is free with Museum admission, which is pay-what-you-wish on Fridays from 6-9 pm. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted. All shows start at 7 pm.

Be right back with the rest of the weekend’s events. More Friday night stuff HERE.
