Philly-via-Maine indie folk band Friendship have three albums under their belts, the last two of which came out on Owen Ashworth's Orindal Records, and in the time since then, vocalist Dan Wriggins put out some great solo material. Now, Friendship have just signed to Merge Records, who will release their fourth album later this year, and they've put out the new single "Ugly Little Victory." It's as lovely and tender as you'd expect from this band, and Dan's plainspoken yet emotive vocals sound as great as ever. Listen below.

About the signing, Dan says, "If there’s a label that does it better than Merge, we haven’t heard of them, and we’ve heard of a lot of music stuff. We are psyched from beyond. In the words of Hank Williams, 'Move over, cold dog, ’cause a hot dog’s movin’ in!'"

As previously mentioned, Friendship are opening part of Indigo de Souza's tour, alongside Horse Jumper of Love (who also announced a new album today), including her two sold-out NYC shows on Thursday (4/21) and Sunday (4/24) at Music Hall of Williamsburg. All dates are listed below.
