Stoner rock vets Fu Manchu (who teased a new album for 2020) have remained staples of the Palm Desert Scene ever since their formation three decades ago, and they'll be celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band with a world tour, which kicks off in April. The band will hit cities including Austin, NYC, Dallas, Chicago, Philly, Denver, Cleveland, Baltimore, Houston, Paris, Munich, Milan, and many others, with the band promising more US dates and international shows TBA.
The NYC show happens at Bowery Ballroom on May 7. Tickets for that show (and the whole tour) go on sale Friday (1/17) at noon. Fu Manchu's last album Clone of the Universe came out in 2018, and featured Rush's Alex Lifeson on the 18-minute closer, "Il Mostro Atomico." You can view all tour dates, and revisit the album in full, below.
Elsewhere, Fu Manchu guitarist Bob Balch has kept busy this year with desert rock collective Big Scenic Nowhere, whose debut LP Vision Beyond Horizon drops later this month. You can hear recent single "Then I Was Gone" from that album below as well.
