Gap Dream released a new single, readies new LP for fall

Gap Dream’s Gabe Fulvimar living the chill life…

Gabe Fulvimar is set to release, Shine Your Light, his second album as Gap Dream on November 12. The LP was made after Gabe moved from Ohio to Fullerton, CA, home to his label, Burger Records. The record was made with Conspiracy of Owls’ Bobby Harlow and is a bit different than the first Gap Dream record. Says Gabe:

I’d record the songs here at Burger and send them to Bobby over the Internet. They’d come back grittier and stronger. More focused, but also more fucked up. They were darker reflections of themselves. It was like suddenly stumbling upon a version of myself that grew up in an alternate universe. We referred to this process as “putting them in the Pet Sematary.”

We were definitely not preserving any sort of previously existing sound. We were making a new sound for Gap Dream. The tempos are faster. The synths are louder. The drum machine is up-front and relentless. The rhythms are full of life, strict, and very apparent. I’ve wanted to make a record like this
my whole life.

The first track released is “Fantastic Sam” which, like much of what Gap Dream does, the song has a nice, laid-back, homemade charm. You can stream it below. Meanwhile, Gap Dream also has a new single out on Burger, “Chill Spot.” You can watch the video for that one below as well.

As mentioned, Gap Dream are part of the Burger Caravan of All-Stars tour that also includes The Growlers, Cosmonauts and Pangea. That tour hits NYC on October 5 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for that show are still available.

Gap Dream have a few non-Burger Caravan shows coming up too, and all dates are listed, along with that video and song stream, below.
