The free River Rocks series on Hudson River Park’s Pier 84 kicked off last night (7/11) with a headlining set from indie pop band Generationals, direct support from Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside, and opening set from (probably the currently buzziest band on the lineup) Waxahatchee. Waxahatchee played with a new bassist (aka the guy from Radiator Hospital was not there to sing harmonies on “Peace and Quiet”). You can check out a set of pictures from the whole show in this post.

The River Rocks series continues later this month on July 25 with Foxygen, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, and The Aves; and August 8 with Titus Andronicus, Ducktails, and Juan Wauters (of The Beets).
