Murals paying tribute to George Floyd, who was killed by police two weeks ago, have begun to spring up across the country, including in his hometown of Minneapolis (as Instagrammed by Bun B). Now, EV Grieve points out, there are two new murals honoring him in NYC's East Village. One, which you can see above, is by Fumeroism, and located at E Houston and Bowery. The second, by Dragon76art, can be found on 1st Ave at 13th Street. See more pictures of both below.

All four cops in Floyd's death have now been formally charged: Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane with aiding and abetting murder, and Derek Chauvin with second degree murder, upgraded from a previous charge of third degree.

A veto-proof majority of the Minneapolis City Council has voted to "dismantle" the police department and "start fresh with a community-oriented, non-violent public safety and outreach capacity," following over a week of protests.

Floyd was a rapper and DJ Screw collaborator, and Bun B, Paul Wall and Trae the Truth have reflected on his music.

Kanye West created a college fund for Floyd's daughter, Gianna, six years old. He also joined the protests in Chicago.
