Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds was in an unfortunate motorcycle accident a few days ago that led to a broken leg, as you can see in the instagram post above. Thankfully it wasn't more serious (it was just while starting his motorcycle), but one of the by-products of the accident is that Hinds' tour with his new supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra has been cancelled. That tour was set to start this Tuesday (11/29) and run through several cities in early December (including NYC's Gramercy Theatre on Dec 1).

Giraffe Tongue Orchestra also features Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman, Alice In Chains' Adam Duvall, Deathklok's Pete Griffin, and the Mars Volta's Thomas Pridgen. Hinds has a couple of other side projects, like Fiend Without a Face and West End Motel, who have also had dates scuttled by the broken leg. Get well soon Brent!

Mastodon are also working on a new album, and Brent's Mastodon bandmate Troy Sanders is staying busy with Gone is Gone.
