Glassjaw share "Golgotha" video; openers revealed for tour with Quicksand

Last year, post-hardcore icons Glassjaw returned with their first album in 15 years, Material Control, which picked up right where they left off. It’s surprisingly killer for a band who had dealt with so many roadblocks in the time since their last album, and if you still haven’t heard it, it’s worth changing that. Today, the band released a new video for “Golgotha” off the album. Eerie and distorted, it splices performance footage with vintage clips of war and life during wartime. Check it out below.

As mentioned, Glassjaw are gearing up to hit the road with fellow back-in-action post-hardcore greats Quicksand, whose first album in 22 years, Interiors, came out last year. The tour brings the two New York bands to their hometown area for shows at Montclair, NJ’s Wellmont Theatre on August 2 (tickets) and NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on August 3 (tickets). We’re giving away tickets AND t-shirts to the Brooklyn Steel show – fill out the form below to enter. All dates are also listed below.

UPDATE: Openers for the tour have also been announced. The first leg is with Brooklyn’s sludgy shoegazers Spotlights, most of the second leg is with Brooklyn post-hardcore band Primitive Weapons, and the Philly show is with Lovelorn, a new band with 3/4 of the now-defunct Philly band Creepoid. The NYC-area shows are with Primitive Weapons.

Spotlights also have other dates, including a previously mentioned release show for their Hanging By Faith EP at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on Saturday (6/30) with Toby Driver and Somnuri (tickets). They also have shows with Pallbearer, including Hamden and Long Island. All of their dates are listed below too.

Since releasing Interiors, Quicksand released even more new music: the three-song Triptych Continuum 12″ EP that came out on Record Store Day. It got a digital release last week and you can now stream it below.
